As I said in the last post, the first half of our February was just no fun.
My best friend from high school came to Colorado with her newborn, it was so great seeing them, but the reason he came was for a surgery, so that was hard for me knowing what she was going through, but I know so much harder for her mama heart.
We did enjoy having a quick lunch in Boulder with them first though!
Then one of my best friends decided to move back home to New Mexico. That was miserable:( She has been just a wonderful friend and neighbor to me, I hated seeing her go.
But we did have a little good-bye dinner with her closest friends her before she left, so that was a nice moment in between the hard with her.
They stayed with us for a few days before they left and it happened to be over Valentine's Day, it was sure fun getting to have a "party" with the 6 kids before they left. Hailey, her 8 year old has been in Brennar's class the last 2 years, and Hannah, her 6 year old is in Brilee's class this year. It was really sad watching 2 of their best friends leave
But the last week we got some good quality time in with them and we will treasure that!
I just had to throw this picture in - the kids were "playing" with Brexten, in the dog crate, poor 4th child
We got another cool experience the beginning of the month, we were out to lunch and a couple of police officers walked in to the restaurant and they signed Bryden's cast and gave him a badge!
Pretty cool!!!
But first half of February, I'm glad you're over!!!!

February
February is usually my favorite month, mostly because it's my birthday and who doesn't like that???
It started out great! I was totally spoiled by my kids, hubby and friends
I had brownies for my "cake", after completing the Whole30 in January a dessert never tasted so good!
The following day, these 2 had their well child check-ups and they went perfect, 2 happy and healthy boys.
But the following day our month went downhill, fast.
Bryden fell in our basement and broke his arm
Serioulsy, there shouldn't be an extra "wrist" in the middle of his arm
But he did fantastic, they let the ER doctors splint it with absolutely zero issues and only having taken motrin
The next day was the super bowl, poor Bryden couldn't do much of anything with his friends who came over.
First thing Monday morning we had an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon and I was expecting to hear that they would set his arm right then with minimal problems, but instead he told us we would have surgery the following morning. I was extremely upset, I didn't want Bryden to be put under.
But we showed up and some of the best doctors and nurses! The talked and joked with him, he smiled the entire time. When they were ready they gave him a little drink to make him silly, they said it would help him not be scared when they got back to the OR and we weren't there. After about 20 minutes they took him back, with a big grin on his face.
They came and got us about 20 minutes later and said he'd done great and was just sleeping still but we could come sit with him. He had a hard time waking up, took about 45 minutes, and I was a mess. They explained that it could be awhile because the actual surgery was so short that even on the lowest doses of meds his body still had to run through it for him to wake up. And a nurse never left his side, continually checked all his vitals even though he was hooked up to lots of machines watching them too. Finally we got him to wake up, and I'm sure you'd never guess this knowing him, but he woke up with a giant smile:) He was a little upset about the IV in his arm, since he had went to the back without one but they took it out almost right away and he was perfect.
By the time the kids got home from school, you'd never know anything had happened.
He came home to a giant dino with a broken arm too:)
And the next day this basket of cookies arrived from his cousins!
He has done so great with it all!

Wrapping up our January
Brennar gets very emotional when his team doesn't win the game. This reaction was due to exactly that
My best girl!
January 18th marked the 5th anniversary of Beckett's angel day, we loved writing on balloons and sending them up to heaven! Brexten did too, I promise:)
I had my first Lipsense party the end of January, it was so fun having my friends over and getting to play with lipstick!
Its really just the best finding pictures they take of themselves on my phone!
My friends surprised me with a little birthday painting class, is was such a blast
And now I have fresh art for our Big Sky house!!
After a year off, Brennar did basketball again - he has come so far, I couldn't be more proud of him! Watching my kid have such good ball skills is just incredible to me, I have ZERO hand eye coordination, seriously zero
Brexten has finally figured out the joy of a good selfie! Isn't he just the cutest thing you ever saw?!?!
Not entirely sure why we took all these next pics, I just know they each wanted theirs done
Can't you just hear him saying "Cheeeeeeese"
