We deviated from our usual Hawaii family vacation this year to try out all the parks in San Diego. We took Brennar there when he was almost the same age as Brexten is now, so that was sort of fun looking back at Brennar's pictures and experiencing the same places with Brexten.
We landed in San Diego on Mother's Day and headed straight up to Carlsbad where we would be staying at the Legoland Hotel the first couple nights. We had planned to spend a full day at the park on Monday so on Sunday we went to the aquarium that was connected to it.
Bryden is touching a seastar here, it was his first time touching anything like this so he really enjoyed it.
Brilee and Grama Honey did it. Brilee is in heaven anytime animals are involved:)
Grama and Grampa with the 2 big boys - depending who I am talking about the boys are either grouped into the big boys or the little boys - lucky Bryden gets to be in both
Great white shark made out of legos - Brennar would love to make one of these
Clint showing how he felt about the day - just kidding! He had a blast too
Brilee and a merman completely out of legos
First family picture of the trip
We stayed in a pirate themed bedroom, it was so cool, I didn't get a great picture of it but the kids had a bunk bed for 3, Bryden thought he was so cool (he's still in a crib at home)
The wall in our room
All these giant mini-figures welcome you into the hotel
They just opened a new theme of rooms - the Lego Friends - Brilee would have liked to stay there, but the rooms weren't big enough for all of us
Anytime I take a picture with one of the other kids, Bryden wants his done too:)
Brexten was a champ for the trip, long days, and he did awesome
We did something called the VIP experience in Legoland, we had 2 guides take us through out the park, they walked us up to the front of every line and if it was a ride we liked, we could just stay on it and ride it again. They also got us our lunch, collected all our pictures, ran and got us waters or snacks, anything, it was expensive, but so fun, we really felt like VIPs for the day:)
A few of the rides
There were a few height restrictions on some of the rides, so me and Brexten took advantage of our time alone and took lots of selfies:)
Chewy - this was so awesome - the boys loved it
We also got to go into the Lego workshop, where the Lego master builders work, and design our own mini figures - Brilee, Ashley, Grampa Todd, Bryden, Brennar and Grama Honey - Clint played with Brexten while we made them
This little guy was a champ too, made it until about 4 pm with out a nap and we were constantly on the go. This was by far the coolest face paint I've ever seen, wish I would have gotten a better picture of this cute matey!
Legoland was so much fun! We will definitely be going back!
